Calling On Neighborly Pride in Cinnaminson: Annual Parks Cleanup Day is March 30

"Save the Date" for Cinnaminson Township's annual Clean the Parks day March 30.

Hello Cinnaminson neighbors,

Township Committeeman Don Brauckmann, director of Parks & Recreation - Health & Senior Services, has put out the "Save the Date" announcement, and maybe one of your neighbors will be phoning, Facebook-ing or texting a personal request to you:

Our annual Cinnaminson Parks Cleanup Day is scheduled for Saturday morning, 9 a.m. to noon, March 30.

Any individual can make a notable difference. Family teams have been known to make short work of whole patches of winter debris. And all of the local leagues/teams/organizations will find that, when they lend a hand in the park/areas which they primarily use for play or practice, they'll be proud when their out-of-town opponents see what a great facility our community provides.

Our cleanup tasks include:

* Picking up trash and branches

* Spreading mulch in play areas

* Sharpening flower beds and mulch areas by digging landscape borders

* Planting flowers

* Painting selected park structures or buildings (by approval)

* Cleaning up leaves that have collected along fences and common areas

We also need volunteers for each park to act as "park captains."

As in years past, Christine Turner has offered to chair and organize efforts. Please coordinate with her and have your volunteers contact her regarding their availability and ideas. Last year's story will give you a picture of the ways that "many hands make light work." You're guaranteed to increase your township pride if you participate.

I close with this wonderful and inspirational quote that Don Brauckmann included with his township announcement. It's perfect for Black History Month, and equally inspirational 365 days a year.

"If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward."
