Army Vet, Longtime Cinnaminson Resident Dies

Arthur David Llewellyn, who worked at RCA in Camden for many years, died last week.

Longtime Cinnaminson resident Arthur David Llewellyn passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, at the age of 85.

Born in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of a coal miner who died when Arthur was 16. As a boy, Arthur was a member of the Boy Scouts, eventually becoming a Life Scout. He continued to participate as a leader after his son became a scout.

Arthur joined the Army at 18 and served in North Africa until he was honorably discharged in September 1947. He attended Penn State on the GI Bill and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering.

Arthur moved to Cinnaminson in 1959. He worked at RCA in Camden, where he spent his entire career, retiring in 1993.

He met his wife, Marge, a mechanical engineer, at RCA and they married in 1956. Arthur’s life was centered on family and home, where he pursued his love of photography and gardening. He was also an excellent cook.

Arthur was the beloved husband of Margaret (nee Malone) for 56 years; loving father of Anne Caputo (Frank), of Collingswood; Patricia Llewellyn, of Philadelphia; Richard Llewellyn, (Kim) of Chalfont, PA; and Margie Hood (Wayne), of Westampton; dear grandfather of Dani, Zachary, Jessie, Scott, Erin and Jenny; and brother of the late Hayden Llewellyn.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Arthur’s celebration of life at Snover Givnish Funeral Home, 1200 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, between 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Branch Pike and Pomona Road, Cinnaminson. Interment will take place in Lakeview Memorial Park.
