Delran Dad, Coach Dies at 52

Thomas Flanagan passed away suddenly Monday. Funeral services will be held this week.

Longtime youth sports coach Thomas J. Flangan, of Delran, passed away suddenly at the age of 52 on Dec. 2.

Tom was a lifelong resident of Delran, where he coached Pop Warner Football, softball and other various sports teams in Delran for more than 20 years. He was also very involved with the Resurrection Parish in Riverside and Delran.

Tom, a 1979 graduate of Delran High School, was employed as an electrician and a member of Local 98 Philadelphia for more than 30 years. He was an avid Eagles fan.

He was a devoted father to Tara (fiancé Scott Zadina), Thomas, Matthew, Brooke and Karlee; beloved son of Thomas G. and Catherine I. Flanagan; dear brother of Timothy (Sharon) and James (Dawn). Tom is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tom’s life celebration and viewing from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Snover/Givnish Funeral Home, 1200 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, and his funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Casimir’s Church, 502 New Jersey Ave., Riverside. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
