Obituary: Edwin Johnson Butterfoss Jr.

Services will be held Tuesday and Wednesday at Snover/Givnish in Cinnaminson.

Edwin Johnson Butterfoss Jr., a resident of Cinnaminson for 51 years, passed away suddenly on March 30, 2012. He was 82 years old.

Butterfoss received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Rutgers University, and he went on to receive his master's degree from Drexel University. He worked as an engineer at RCA in Moorestown for more than 40 years. Butterfoss was a devoted member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Palmyra, where he has served as treasurer for over 25 years. He loved playing golf, and enjoyed the family vacations he spent with his children and grandchildren. He proudly attended every graduation, sports event, dance recital, and any other event that involved his grandkids.

Butterfoss was the beloved husband of Mary Ellen Butterfoss (nee Lenyo) for 60 years, loving father of Peggy O’Brien (Peter), Edwin J. III (Jane), Mark (Laurie), Beth, Amy Welsh (Pete) and the late Michael and Jeffrey, dear grandfather of Jeffrey, Molly, Kara, Sara, Danny, Derek, Tommy, Kelsey, Alyssa, and Dana, dear great grandfather of Caroline, and loving brother of Lou Ellen Morris.

Relatives and friends are invited to Butterfoss' Life Celebration on Tuesday evening at of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday morning at Bethany Lutheran Church, Broad St. and Morgan Ave., Palmyra, from 10 to 11 a.m.

Butterfoss' service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Butterfoss' name may be made to Bethany Lutheran at the above address. To share your fondest memory of Butterfoss, please visit www.lifecelebration.com.
