Obituary: John E. Leer, Former Cinnaminson Resident

Services will be held Monday and Tuesday.

 

John E. Leer died unexpectedly on Feb. 7, 2013. Born in Jersey City, Leer was 77 years old.

He was a resident of Douglassville, Pa. since 1999 and previously of Cinnaminson from 1976 to 1999.

Beloved husband of 45 years to Barbara H. (nee Cundey). Loving father of Mark D. (Kelley), Michael A. (Noni), Matthew B. (Donna) and Maureen H. (Gene) Dyer. Brother of Carolina St. Ores, Virginia St. Ores, the late Pearl Kau and the late Irene Smith. Devoted grandfather of Lisa (Steve), Robert (Kiara), Eric (Jordan), Kaitlin, Daniel, Elizabeth, Brandon, Drew and Dylan. Loving Great Grandfather of Christopher, Daniel, Carson and Tyler.

Leer was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, he proudly served his country in the US Army. He retired from the US Naval Defense in Moorestown in 1998 as a contract specialist.

Leer was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed being with his family, discussing politics and his faith in God.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's Life Celebration and viewing Monday, Feb. 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Snover/Givnish of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 North.

His Funeral Mass will follow 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 102 Fourth Street, Riverton, NJ 08077. Entombment, with Military Honors, at Lakeview Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church.
