Obituary: Samuel E. Elvert, 103

Elvert was a longtime Riverton Country Club member.

Samuel E. Elvert passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Masonic Home of NJ in Jacksonville.

Born in Philadelphia, Sam was 103 years old. In his early years (1926), Sam played semipro baseball for the Riverside Field Club of the Burlington County League. Sam started his tool & die maker career at the Victor Talking Machine Company in Camden, NJ. He retired from the Radio Corporation of America in 1972.

He was a long time member (1951) of Riverton Country Club, where he enjoyed playing golf. Sam was a long time member of The Philadelphia Seniors Golf Association. Sam was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Riverside # 107 for over 70 years.

He was the beloved husband of the late Ann Sambor Elvert and the late Marie Armstrong Elvert. Loving father of Joanne Elvert and her husband Richard Kachur.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sam's Life Celebration and Viewing Wednesday Eve 7-9 p.m. Masonic Services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday 10-11 a.m. at Snover/Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North. His Funeral Service will follow 11 a.m.
