OPINION: Cinnaminson Harbour HOA price increase

In September 2013 I moved to Cinnaminson Harbour on Fela Drive, with my wife, the HOA cost at the time was $220, and during the process of building we were constantly reassured that the price of HOA would not increase much - if at all.

In January 2014 the price rose to $230 in anticipation of the new clubhouse that is being built, fine. Now it is May, and I am just receiving a letter in the mail stating there will be a $222.00 snow assessment added to our HOA dues across six payments, $37.00 extra for six months.

This additional amount comes to a total of $267.00 for 6 months, added on to our mortgage payment. Are you kidding me!

To say the least, I am furious over this! I'm not sure if anyone has spoken up regarding this price increase but I think $230 is steep enough as it is, and for what- to have some guy mow our 10x6 lawn once every two weeks? If I knew I would be paying an extra $220 on top of our already steep HOA payment, I would have shoveled my own snow, happily! I'm from Philadelphia and surely not scared to shovel of a little snow before leaving for work in the morning.

Cinnaminson Harbour Township Board of Directors, I've got some words for you, and I will surely be present at the next meeting!
