Alleged Rite Aid Robber Arrested

Police say Eric R. Harbinson, of Mount Laurel, hit Rite Aid stores in Cherry Hill twice in the last week.

A Mount Laurel man who allegedly flashed a gun while robbing Rite Aid stores twice in the last week was arrested Thursday, and now faces a slew of charges, Cherry Hill Police said.

Eric R. Harbinson, 29, of the 4000 block of Burryport Way, allegedly hit the pharmacies on Jan. 31 and Feb. 4, flashing a gun tucked into his pants to clerks working the front registers, police said. Surveillance footage in the Jan. 31 robbery captured his distinctive black jacket, which was emblazoned with a skull and crossed revolvers on the back.

Harbinson, who also has a previous address in Audubon, is charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon without a permit, possession of a weapon by a felon and theft of movable property in the Cherry Hill incidents.

He was separately arrested by Maple Shade Police for a similar incident Sunday at the CVS on Route 73. Police there said he approached the front counter and asked for a pack of cigarettes, then flashed a handgun and ordered the clerk to empty the register.

The arrests are not his first brush with the law—Harbinson has previously been convicted on theft charges, both in Burlington County, in 2006 and 2011. In both those convictions, he ended up with no jail time, but was sentenced to a total of five years of probation.
