Burglaries Continue

Cinnaminson police said incidents could be related.

The burglaries in Cinnaminson continue as another one has been reported here this week, according to township .

Between 9 a.m. Tuesday and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, an alleged burglary took place on the 1900 block of Jefferson Street in the Parry section of Cinnaminson, police said.

The owner of the residence was away, and upon returning home, the homeowner discovered the back door was open. Entry into the home was made through an unsecured kitchen window, according to reports.

So far, jewelry appears to be the only items taken from the homeowner's master bedroom.

Police are continuing to investigate that and other burglaries throughout the township. Lt. Tim Young said the police department continues to think the .

"It's common that groups will hit an area," Young said. "It's also possible there's more than one group, which tends to complicate it a little bit."

Surrounding towns have also been experiencing burglaries, such as Palmyra and Moorestown. In Palmyra, are on the rise. Cinnaminson Township Police work closely with neighboring communities, especially during the recent rash of burglaries.

"Our detectives will get together and compare things we're experiencing and share information that way," Young said. "We help out all the time."

Young is asking residents to make sure doors and windows are locked at all times. Several of the burglaries have been a result of unlocked or unsecured windows. 

"Sometimes, they'll go house to house and try to find an open door, because they know they'll find one," Young said.
