BurlCo Authorities Solve 2 More Bank Robberies: Prosecutor

A day after solving one pair of Burlington County bank robberies, authorities arrested another man for two more heists that occurred last year.

According to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, Nathaniel L. Stroud Jr., 33, of Cottage Street in Philadelphia, entered the Roma Bank on Hartford Road in Delran—which was hit twice in a 30-day period last year—on Nov. 8 and handed a note to a teller demanding money and implying he had a gun.

A week later, authorities said Stroud walked into the TD Bank on Levitt Parkway in Willingboro and presented a similar note. In both robberies, Stroud left with money but didn’t show a weapon, the prosecutor said.

Stroud was arrested Tuesday morning in Trenton by members of the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department Warrant Unit and charged with two counts of robbery. He’s also charged by Mercer County authorities with robbing the First Constitution Bank on Mercer Street in Hightstown on Jan. 9, 2014.

There were 24 bank robberies in Burlington County in 2013, and several remain unsolved. Nineteen of those robberies occurred in the final two months of the year.

Burlington County authorities arrested 22-year-old David J. Glenn, of Burlington Township, Monday and charged him with robbing two banks in Delran—including the aforementioned Roma Bank—in a matter of minutes last month.

Stroud was lodged in Burlington County Jail in lieu of $200,000 full bail by Judge Thomas P. Kelly. The case will be referred to a grand jury for indictment.

In addition to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department, Delran Police Department, Hightstown Police Department, FBI, Philadelphia Police Department and the Willingboro Police Department assisted in the investigation.
