Camden Man Burglarizes Cinnaminson Home: Police

Cinnaminson Police say the resident was home when the alleged burglar broke in.

A Cinnaminson woman fled her home Thursday morning after a Camden broke in to steal jewelry, police said.

Cinnaminson Police were called to a home on the 700 block of Union Landing Road at 8:39 a.m. Thursday for a report of a burglary in process. The resident—who had fled and called from a neighbor's house—told police a man had knocked on the front door and, when she didn't answer, forced his way in through a window.

Police said the man—identified as 39-year-old Thomas Amoratis, a homeless man from Camden—swiped some jewelry while he was inside, then fled.

After a short foot chase, officers took Amoratis into custody. He was charged with burglary, theft, possession of burglary tools and criminal mischief.

Amoratis was lodged in Burlington County Jail on $50,000 cash bail.
