Cinnaminson Driver High on Heroin: Police

Evesham Police say they found Douglas Nelson passed out behind the wheel in the middle of the road.

A Cinnaminson man who was found passed out in his car near a park in Evesham Township's Marlton section was arrested on drug charges Saturday, police said.

Douglas Nelson, 31, was slumped over the steering wheel and stopped in the road on Westerly Drive, Evesham Police said, and officers responding to the scene spotted several bags of heroin on the front seat.

After waking up Nelson, the officers determined he had been driving while high on the drugs, police said, and he was arrested.

Nelson faces third-degree possession of heroin, driving under the influence of narcotics and numerous other motor vehicle violations. He was released on his own recognizance.
