Cinnaminson Falls to Vincentown in Game Three of Finals

Cinnaminson leads the series two games to one.

Cinnaminson baseball lost their first game of the Rancocas Valley League finals, 7-6, to Vincentown Monday night. Cinnaminson still leads the best-of-five series two games to one, with game four scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight at Southampton Memorial Park.

Game three of the finals had been postponed one day, with all three games played in the series being postponed at least once, which has helped both teams get rest for their pitchers.

“It’s not like we went two weeks without playing. Our guys weren’t sharp and we just didn’t play our game last night,” Cinnaminson Manager Brett Miller said.

Bob Diepold took the loss with a complete game effort for Cinnaminson while also recording a two-run double in a three-run first inning that put Cinnaminson on the board. John Bujanowski Jr., a Vincentown outfielder, went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a home run in the winning effort.

“Any team can beat anybody for the most part in this league. They gave us game two and we pretty much gave it to them last night. You know it's going to be a tough seven innings each game you play. They’re a good team and are not going to lie down for anybody,” Miller said.

Cinnaminson committed three errors in the field, recorded multiple wild pitches, and had the tying run on first with no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning but could not tie the game. Mike Osborne walked to start the Cinnaminson seventh but was caught in a rundown by Vincentown starter Zeke Boren.

“Pretty much the whole lineup contributed; we put up six runs. Joe Sirroli has had a great series for us so far. Everybody did something last night. We just came up one run short,” Miller said.

Nick Melchiorre will take the hill tonight for Cinnaminson looking to duplicate his one-hit performance in the .

“We are expecting him to carry us. We are going to hit the ball again like last night. We made a lot of defensive mistakes last night, which is not our game. They still have to beat us twice in a row so we like our chances,” Miller said.
