Cinnaminson National Night Out Right Around the Corner

Cinnaminson's first responders will head into a handful of township neighborhoods next week for the second annual National Night Out.

In an effort to be more community-minded, Cinnaminson Police are staging National Night Out at three locations throughout town this year.

The event, set for 5-8 p.m. next Tuesday, Aug. 6, will be held at Extension Park, Wood Park and New Albany School. The locations were chosen by neighborhood volunteers, according to police.

National Night Out is an opportunity for towns across the country to promote partnerships between law enforcement and their communities, crime prevention and neighborhood camaraderie. More than 37 million people in 15,000 communities across the country—as well as Canada and military bases worldwide—participate in the event.

“This is the 30th annual National Night Out and Cinnaminson Police plan to be a part of this national event for many years to come,” said Public Safety Director Mickey King.

The police department hopes to build on the success of last year’s event—its first—with activities including: face painting, inflatable bounce rides, music, raffles and giveaways, and games for all ages. There will also be food (and ice cream), as well as demonstrations and exhibits, including Cinnaminson Police K-9, DARE, a karate demo, story time, and the Cinnaminson Fire Department.
