Cinnaminson Trio Accused in String of Armed Robberies Charged With Robbery in Hainesport

Additional charges are expected from other jurisdictions.

Three Cinnaminson residents charged with nine armed robberies in Burlington and Camden County were charged with an additional robbery, Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and New Jersey State Police Superintendent Colonel Rick Fuentes announced Thursday afternoon.

Elizabeth A. Albertson, 28, Charles Richards, 28, and Bryan Hawthorne, 26, were each charged with one count of armed robbery in connection with the robbery of the Country Farms convenient store on Marne Highway in Hainesport on Jan. 19.

According to officials, Hawthorne and Richards entered the store just after 8 p.m.

Hawthorne allegedly grabbed the gas station attendant, who was standing near the checkout counter, and then pointed a handgun at the clerk who was standing behind the counter at the cash register.

Richards then allegedly ran behind the counter and ordered the clerk to open the cash register.

Alberston was the driver. She allegedly waited in the car, which was parked on Delaware Avenue.

All three are in custody. Bail for Richards has been set at $400,000, while Hawthorne’s is $325,000 and Albertson’s is $300,000. The case will be referred to a Grand Jury for indictment.

Police anticipate other charges being filed against the three from other jurisdictions.

Previously, all three were charged in connection with the robbery of a 7-11 in Mount Laurel on Jan. 16; the robbery of a Food Mart in Delran on Jan. 26; The Wine Nova Store in Stratford on Feb. 2; Pike Liquors in Lindenwold on Feb. 4; and Richards Liquors in Gloucester Township on Feb. 4; the January 14 armed robbery of the Sunoco gas station; and the January 21 of the Country Farms convenience store.

Hawthorne and Richards were also charged conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in connection with a plot to rob a liquor store in Florence.

Richards and Albertson were charged in connection with the robbery of The Liquor Mill in Magnolia on Jan 13.

An investigation revealed the defendants used proceeds from the robberies to buy heroin in Camden, officials said.

Agencies working together to investigate the recent string of armed robberies include the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, Cinnaminson Police Department, Delran Police Department, Florence Police Department, Gloucester Township Police Department, Lindenwold Police Department, Lumberton Police Department, Magnolia Police Department, Maple Shade Police Department, Moorestown Police Department, Mount Laurel Police Department, New Jersey State Police, Palmyra Police Department, Pennsauken Police Department and Stratford Police Department.
