Fake Cop Arrested in Moorestown, Police Say

Police arrested John Baird outside an assisted living facility Wednesday.

A Moorestown man who claimed to be an undercover officer was arrested Wednesday at The Evergreens and charged with impersonating an officer, Moorestown Police said.

After security at the assisted living facility called in a report of a suspicious car, officers found John Baird, 30, on the property, police said.

Baird, who works for the Galloway Township Ambulance Squad, claimed to be an undercover cop, police said, and had a ticket book belonging to the Atlantic City Municipal Court.

Baird was charged with impersonating a police officer and theft and was released on a summons pending a court date.
