Palmyra Police said the man—later identified as Martin R. Garvey, 44, of Southampton, PA—was driving toward the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge when he fell off his motorcycle near Route 73 and Souder Avenue. He got back on the bike and tried to cross the bridge, but didn’t have enough money for the toll, police said.
As police we speaking with Garvey, they learned he was wanted by the U.S. Marshals in connection with several bank robberies in various states, according to a report.
In the custody of a Palmyra police officer, Garvey was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries he sustained in the fall from his bike while federal agents were contacted. Two FBI agents from Philadelphia later arrived at the hospital and took Garvey into their custody, police said.
Garvey was ultimately lodged in a federal detention center, pending court.Information provided by Palmyra Police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
