Mothers Hid Stolen Liquor in Baby Car Seats, Police Say

Two of the three accused are teenagers.

Two mothers were found hiding liquor bottles in their children's car seats and concealing the items with baby blankets Thursday at said .

Police arrested three women—Marcia A. Francis, 20, of Concord Drive in Browns Mills, a 17-year-old from Browns Mills and another 17-year-old from Mt. Laurel.

Francis and one of the teens were with their infant children during the incident. They were found concealing high-end vodka in portable baby seats.

All three women were taken to the police station. Police there made arrangements for the infants to be picked up. Both 17-year-olds were released to parents pending criminal charges.

Francis was charged with shoplifting, possession of alcoholic beverages under the age of 21, and child abuse. She was remanded to Burlington County Jail in default of $1,000 bail.

The 17-year-olds will face the same charges in juvenile court.
