Mt. Laurel Bank Robbery is 24th in Burlington County in 2013

Friday's heist at the TD Bank on Ark Road is the 19th bank robbery in Burlington County in the last two months.

A bank robbery Friday night in Mount Laurel brings the number of bank heists in Burlington County this year to 24, with 19 in just the last two months.

Mount Laurel Police said a man entered the TD Bank on Ark Road just before 6 p.m. Friday and handed a teller a note that read, “I want $1,000, don’t look at me, I have a gun.” No gun was shown during the robbery however.

The teller gave the suspect $1,000 from the drawer and the man left on foot in the direction of Ark Road, police said.

A witness told arriving officers she saw a man that matched the suspect’s description running toward Willow Turn. The Medford K-9 unit responded and was used to conduct a track that ended near the 200 block of Willow Turn, police said.

The suspect is described as a white man, late 30s to early 40s, medium build. He has black hair with distinguished white spots on the front and side of his head, police said. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark-colored jacket.

Friday's robbery came only two days after an unidentified man robbed the Columbia Bank in Maple Shade. The suspect in that heist also used a demand note. 

A lone man also robbed two Delran banks in a matter of minutes last week, stealing a teller's SUV as his getaway vehicle.
