An officer spoke to a victim who said he tried to purchase gas with a credit card, but the gas attendant said the machine outside wasn't working and he would have to run it inside the building.

The attendant returned with receipts and the victim left, but without his card.

Later, the victim realized he did not get his card back, police said, and returned to the location. He got his card back and after, checked his bank account statement. He saw there were two other charges at the gas station besides the gas he received, police said.

Police determined the attendant, Melvin Gray, 39, of Camden, had illegally run the victim's card two additional times to gain financial benefit for himself.

Gray turned himself in Thursday and was served with complaints for credit card fraud and theft. He was sent to Burlington County Jail, where his bail was set at $10,000.

Palmyra Police are reaching out to the public for help with the following case.

Officers were called to a residence on Race Street after a man was seen running with a gun. When officers arrived, they checked the area but could not locate the suspect.

A male victim then flagged down police to say someone went into his house with a handgun, demanding money, police said. The victim turned his pockets out to show he had no money and the suspect then fired several blank rounds at the victim. The suspect fled the area and fired several more blank rounds into the air while running from the area.

The victim sustained minor facial injuries due to the wading that came out of the weapon when the blanks were fired. Several casings were recovered at the scene.

Police said the suspect covered his whole head and face with camouflage so there is no description.
