Palmyra Police Blotter

There have been several reports of criminal mischief.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Palmyra Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. The information is from incidents from Aug. 14-21.

Aug. 14, 3:07 p.m.

Palmyra Police are investigating two motor vehicle thefts that occurred in the same vicinity overnight between Aug. 13 and Aug. 14. In both cases, vehicles were left unlocked and GPS devices were taken. Police are asking that everyone lock their vehicles at all times. Anyone who may have heard or seen anything in the area mentioned during the time frame given, contact Palmyra Police at 856-829-0191.

Aug. 14, Various times

Palmyra Police took reports for five criminal mischief events that all occurred in the same area on the same night. Items damaged included a fence post, two light poles, a vehicle, a planter and screen to window. The total amount of damage is estimated at $1,220. Two victims heard loud noises some time between 3 and 4 a.m., but thought it was someone rummaging through a nearby dumpster. Police are asking for anyone who may have seen or heard something related to these events to contact Palmyra Police at 856-829-0191.

Aug. 17, 9:24 p.m.

Palmyra Police stopped a vehicle when a random license plate inquiry came back that the vehicle had been reported stolen in July. The driver, Matthew Martin, 30, of Philadelphia, was immediately taken into custody for receiving stolen property. Subsequent to the arrest, officers searched Martin and found three bags of suspected cocaine. Martin was charged with four indictable offenses and bail was set at $15,000 with 10 percent by the judge. Martin was able to post 10 percent and was released pending court.
