Pizza delivery person robbed of money, cell phone.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Palmyra Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. The information is from incidents from Sept. 24-Oct 1.

Sept. 23, 10:51 p.m.

A Palmyra officer observed a subject on 6th Street that he knew to have an outstanding fugitive warrant out of Kentucky for drug trafficking. The officer made contact with the subject, Paul Sheppard, 52, of Palmyra, and took custody of him without incident. Kentucky authorities were notified. Sheppard was processed and transported to Burlington County Jail with no bail set.

Sept. 24, 7:55 p.m.

Palmyra officers were dispatched for a call of armed robbery of a pizza delivery person on Leconey Avenue in Palmyra. Upon arrival, the victim was able to give police a very good account of the event including a tag from the vehicle that the victim saw the suspects leave in. The tag from the vehicle came back to an address on 5th Street in Palmyra.

The victim told police that two suspects came up from behind her while she was attempting to deliver pizzas to an address. The victim felt what she thought to be a gun on each side of her waist. The victim was finally able to see one gun that she believed to be a semi-automatic handgun. The victim gave the suspects approximately $318 in cash and her cell phone. The victim was not injured.

Follow-up investigation by officers and detectives revealed the pizza delivery request was a set up by the suspects who called and ordered the pizzas to be delivered to an address where nobody was home. Police charged two juveniles and one adult for robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm. The firearm was recovered and found to be a pellet gun. The adult charged was Dawson Pratt III, 20, of Palmyra. Pratt posted a $50,000 bond and the two juveniles were lodged at Juvenile Detention Center.

Sept. 24, 11:21 a.m.

Palmyra officers were called to the Tacony-Palmyra Flea Market for a victim who had her purse taken while shopping. Upon arrival, police learned the victim was following the suspects and they had taken the purse when she sat it down on a table.

Police made contact with Naeemah Shabazz, 30, of Philadelphia, and after interviewing her, they learned she had thrown the purse in the bed of a near by pickup truck to avoid detection. Police took the suspect into custody without incident and she was charged with theft and bail was set at $2,500 with 10 percent option.

Shabazz was able to post the required bail and was released pending court. The victim was able to recover all items except a wallet and $30 in cash.

Sept. 25, 8:10 p.m.

Officers were dispatched to a Rt. 73 truck stop for a theft of services call. Upon arrival, police learned a patron had come in for gas and was served $111 worth of gas and then sped away without paying for the fuel. The attendant was able to get a tag Z70-AUV NJ. Police looked up the vehicle's tag and saw it was a stolen motor vehicle. The vehicle is a green GMC SUV with three or four male occupants. Police are asking for anyone who has seen this vehicle to call 9-1-1 immediately.

Sept. 29, 8:02 a.m.

Police were dispatched to investigate a burglary at a commercial business warehouse on Roto Avenue in Palmyra. Upon arrival, police learned that someone had broken into the business overnight and likely had a vehicle based on the amount of items taken. The suspects forced in a piece of wood that was covering a hole in the warehouse wall and were able to gain access to the building.

Once inside, the suspects were able to cut several locks from storage cages and take numerous power tools and hand tools. Also taken was approximately 100 pounds of copper in the shape of 2-inch balls that was left in a bucket. The tools and copper totaled a loss of $1,650. Police are asking for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area to contact them immediately at 856-829-0191.
