Man arrested twice in the same night.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Palmyra Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction. The information is from incidents from Aug. 22-28.

Aug. 21

A Palmyra officer first encountered a man sleeping on the River Line platform. The train had passed and there was no movement.

The officer confronted the man and asked for identification. Cesar Ortiz, 41, of Columbus, Burlington County, was slightly intoxicated and uncooperative, police said. He then began to use profanity in the area where others were waiting for the train. At this point, Ortiz was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of law.  

After several hours in custody, he was released pending court.

Approximately one hour later, Ortiz was seen by the same officer attempting to break a lock off a secured bicycle on the same train platform. Ortiz was again taken into custody and charged with conspiracy to commit theft and criminal mischief.

Ortiz's bail was set at $2,500 and he was taken to Burlington County Jail.
