Palmyra Police: Home Burglarized on Highland Avenue

May 11

Palmyra Police arrested a Willingboro man on drug charges after the man, who had first been seen by a resident, was walking into several resident's driveways along Cinnaminson Avenue.

A notified Palmyra police that a resident reported a suspicious male in the area of Cinnaminson Avenue and Charles Street. The male had reportedly been walking in and out of different driveways along Cinnaminson Avenue.

Officers found the man, 29-year old Ernest Rich, to be disoriented and intoxicated. Rich claimed he had to go to the bathroom but did not want to do it in view of the public so he decided to go in the driveway of a residence.

After being told several times to keep his hands out of his pockets and not complying, police patted Rich down for officer safety. It was then officers found a clear vial of suspected PCP-laced marijuana in his pocket.

Rich was immediately taken into custody and transported to the station for processing.

He was also charged with urinating in public. 

Rich was later released on a summons pending court.

 

May 14

Palmyra Police are investigating a May 14 attempted burglary and an actual residential burglary on the 700 block of Highland Avenue.

The burglaries occurred between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., said police. Entry to the residence was made through an open rear window.

Police remind residents to make sure they secure all windows and doors when leaving their home and to call police immediately whenever they see suspicious activity.
