Palmyra Police Seeking Burglary Suspects

The following information comes directly from Palmyra Police.

Burglary

Palmyra Police are investigating a burglary to a residence on the 600 block of Washington Avenue.

A neighbor observed a man climbing through a window and entering the residence. An adult male resident in the home confronted the suspect who then went out the window he had entered.

The suspect was last seen running up Washington Avenue and turning onto Spring Garden Street.  

Palmyra Police assisted by officers from and Riverton police departments set up a perimeter and a police K-9 from Cherry Hill Police was called to attempt to track the suspect. The police K-9 and responding officers were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect has been described as a black male, bald, wearing tan khakis and a white jacket with a blue stripe down the back.

Burglary

A residence on the 400 Block of Morgan Avenue was broken into on April 17 during the evening hours. The resident came home at approximately 11 p.m. to find the suspect running out the back door.

The victim described the suspect as being a white male, approximately 5'7" to 5'9,"  dirty blonde hair down past his ears, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Shoplifting/Robbery

On April 14, at approximately 8 p.m., Palmyra units responded to the area of West Sixth Street and Legion Avenue for two subjects that were chasing a third subject. Responding units quickly learned that the subject that was being chased had just shoplifted several bottles of alcohol from the Roger Wilco Liquor store on Route 73 north.  

An employee had attempted to confront the suspect as he was exiting the store. The suspect forcibly pushed the employee to the floor causing her to have minor pain in her left shoulder.  

Palmyra units located the suspect with the help of two Roger Wilco employees in the area of New Jersey Avenue. He was immediately taken into custody without incident and transported to the station for processing.  

Keith T. Cover, 30, from Quakertown, Pa., was later charged with robbery and shoplifting. His bail was set at $52,500, which he was unable to post. Cover was lodged in Burlington County Jail pending court.
