Pennsauken Man Wanted for Attempted Murder: Prosecutor

Authorities say Abrifa Hunt, aka Umar Hunt, stabbed a Beverly City man in the back last week.

Authorities are trying to track down a Pennsauken man charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing a Beverly City man last week.

Abrifa U. Hunt, 36, of the 700 block of Boulevard Avenue, Pennsauken, stabbed the victim in the back early the morning of July 30, outside of a home on the 300 block of Front Street in Beverly, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office. Abrifa is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Hunt, who is also known as Umar Hunt, is described as a heavyset black man, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds. The victim was flown to Cooper University Hospital in Camden following the stabbing and has since been released, authorities said.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Hunt is aware law enforcement officials are searching for him and should be considered dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department’s fugitive tip line at 609-265-5943.

The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, and law enforcement officers from the Beverly City Police Department, Burlington County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.
