Police: Cinnaminson Man Chases Burglar Out of Home

Cinnaminson police say a Devon Road man heard a noise, investigated and encountered an alleged burglar in his hallway.

A Devon Road resident chased an alleged burglar from him home early this morning, Cinnaminson Police said today.

Shortly before 6 a.m. today, police were dispatched to the 100 block of Devon Road for a burglary. Officials said a resident there heard a noise in the house and investigated. The resident encountered a burglar in the hallway and chased him out of the home.

The suspect also entered two vehicles, which were parked in the driveway.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'10", last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue- and orange-striped sweater, and a Philadelphia Flyers hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cinnaminson Police at 856-829-6667, ext. 2022. Information can also be provided anonymously by calling We Tip 800-78-CRIME

Oh yea, looks like we are going to have to live in a fort to be safe now a days....Even the schools are under attack....Something is wrong but what it is I do not know...

Good for him for chasing him out of the house. Who knows what the guy would've done if he hadn't been overheard breaking into the house especially after the Connecticut shooting yesterday

Also on the 100 block of Devon. He took the GPS from our car. While its unlucky that the car wasn't locked, I'm glad our house door was!

Nancy vantwistern, isn't this where you post a racist and derogatory comment about "those people" using rt130 from Pennsauken and Camden coming to our town?

My house was locked also. He found a way in. Do yourself a favor. Buy a weapon. If you haven't had police or military training, get trained. And most of all, stop electing the anti-gun folks in trenton! This could have ended very badly if I had not been armed.

Our house was locked also. He found a way in. Fortunately, I had a weapon and was able to get him out quickly.

If anything this should be a positive thing a man defended his home. We as citizens need to stand up to crime and work together with lawmakers to fix the huge crime and mental illness problems in our country. We shouldn't make decisions based on fear only on sound evidence.

I heard their doors were locked and that they got in the home through from the garage opener inside the car!
anonymous December 16, 2012 at 06:05 PM
@ T Rovson FYI. It was MY house that was broken into. It was MY family who were threatened. I DID NOT post ANY racially related information. However, I am SICK to death of UBER-liberals like you making this out to be a racially charged argument. I sincerely hope YOU and YOUR family are NEVER violated like my family was yesterday. Would like a black male, white male, whatever male coming into YOUR HOME? Entering YOUR children's bedrooms? PLEASE stop the liberal racial crap and keep your nose out of this unless it involves you!!!

@T Rovson - You are an idiot

Houses been robbed weeks ago on Lejune and fairfax and maybe this could have been prevented had the police let people know there's a burglar on the loose
John December 16, 2012 at 07:46 PM
Sorry to say if they want to get in they will get in.....there is no stopping a person like that....we have posted speed limits, we have scofflaws and even our schools are not safe....no one does the right thing anymore, its all about me me me
Gary M December 16, 2012 at 10:47 PM
They should let the community know what happens in your neighborhood as far as crime is concerned so you can be more alert of the problems going on they don't have a problem raiseing taxes on your property when they want to.
John December 17, 2012 at 01:29 AM
@Gary M, do not stop there, lets see, taxes are based on overassessed properties, the dept of public works gives out warnings about leaves and branches, we need new schools, speeders on the side streets and the list goes on.....
Dean December 17, 2012 at 02:01 AM
Shouldn't have any need for the police to warn you that someone may be trying to take your stuff...you should always be security aware.
John December 17, 2012 at 03:29 AM
Oh yea, thats why people leave there cars unlocked.....I guess this is a free ride right
C Town Danny Gfone December 17, 2012 at 06:00 PM
Well slap me sideways and call me sally. Good move leaving your car doors unlocked, very safe and proactive way to keep the community crime free.
Dean December 17, 2012 at 08:31 PM
@John. If you leave your cars and/or house unsecured, the only person you should be mad at is yourself when your stuff comes up missing. They don't put locks on cars and houses because everyone is honest.
Anon December 20, 2012 at 01:51 AM
Should have shot him!
John December 20, 2012 at 06:56 PM
@Dean, I never leave my car unlocked nor do I have only one lock on my door....I do not have a castle but I have and use locks.....nor do I have a gun and besides if U shoot him and he is outside the house your going to go to jail not the thief....
