Police: Maple Shade Man Killed Wife, Self Friday Night

Craig Hike fatally shot his wife before taking his own life at their home Friday night.

A Maple Shade man fatally shot his wife before taking his own life at their home Friday night, Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Maple Shade Police Chief Gary Gubbei announced.

Police were called to the home of Nicole and Craig Hike in the 100 block of Arlington Avenue just after 9 p.m. on July 11 by a relative who went to the house.

Nicole, 39, and Craig, 42, lived alone at the residence. They were discovered by the relative in their bedroom.

Autopsies performed yesterday by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood revealed that the deaths resulted from gunshot wounds.

The investigation was conducted by detectives from the Maple Shade Police Department and the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
