A Riverton man rang in the new year by fleeing from police on a motorcycle, before being arrested at his home, according to a report.

Riverton Police attempted to stop a motorcycle shortly before midnight Dec. 31 in the area of Second Street and Linden Avenue for several motor vehicle violations. However, the driver, Wayne Neal, sped away and eluded officers, police said.

Police managed to track Neal back to his residence after he was seen by responding officers speeding through Palmyra, according to a report. The motorcycle was located and Neal was taken into custody.

Bail was set at $5,000, with a 10 percent option. Neal posted bail and was released on his own recognizance, police said. He was issued several summonses.
