UPDATE: Massive Brush Fire Rages In Berkeley,…

Santa Will Tour Cinnaminson on Fire Truck Monday

Father Christmas visits the township before his big Christmas Eve delivery.

Santa Claus and his helpers will make their rounds in Cinnaminson on Christmas Eve as the North Pole’s most famous citizen hands out gifts and spreads holiday cheer.

Starting around 4 p.m. Monday, three fire trucks will tour the township each with St. Nick and several members of the Cinnaminson Fire Department.

This is the 38th year Santa has been visiting families in Cinnaminson. And while other towns ask Santa to visit several days or weeks before Christmas, the fire department has kept it on Christmas Eve.

“That’s when the kids want it,” said Fire Chief William Kramer. “That’s when it’s the most exciting. And they get to see Santa before they go to bed.”

About 20 fire department members and other volunteers give up their Christmas Eve to ride along with Santa.

“It’s just a really nice thing [they] do,” Kramer said. “They are giving up their Christmas Eve to make the kids happy.”

Santa even stops at kids’ houses, whose parents sent Santa a special letter through the fire department asking him to hand deliver a gift. Kramer said more than 200 stops a year are made in Cinnaminson.

Usually, Santa starts making his way around town at 4 p.m. He’ll keep going until he’s finished, Kramer said, sometimes it’s even at 10 p.m.

If you see Santa on your street on Christmas Eve, snap a picture and upload it to this story.

Merry Christmas from us here at Cinnaminson Patch.

Will they ride down lejune rd. so we can be ready. There is a few kids who will be eagerly waiting for Santa. They missed him last year and just wanted to make sure they don't miss him this year. Thanks

Thanks to the firefighters for taking the time away from your families on Christmas Eve to make it so special for community children. My children LOVE Santa's visit on the fire truck every year, it wouldn't be the same without it! Merry Christmas!

@ happymomof3, if they don't come down lejune this year, please stop by the firehouse next year in the weeks before Christmas to sign up. Our program works a little different than other towns in that our Santa delivers presents (supplied by the household) to those who sign up

I love the fact they do this but wish they would go back to the way they use to do it....running the lights and sirens down every street...use to be fun listening to them coming closer the last 2 years they didn't do it that way and i'm sure lots of childern missed seeing Santa on the trucks

Is it possible that next year, you can let us know where you will be driving "Santa"? My four children were waiting and hoping to see Santa, but didn't get the chance because "Santa" didn't come down their road. We know its hard to have "Santa" drive on every road in Cinnaminson, so maybe next year he can at least provide us with a specified route. I'm sure my kids won't mind walking a few blocks just to see him.

Maybe they did not have enough Santa's to go around....I live on willow drive and did not see the truck or Santa either....maybe next year....or maybe they had trouble with the fire trucks do not know....

We had 4 Santas this year. I was #4. If you want to see santa next year go to the firehouse and fill out a request. We had over 175 Requests more than in the past. Took 4 Trucks over 5 Hours to visit all the houses.

Oh, did not know U had to request a visit from Santa.....Other areas have them go around the town without requests, guess we are different....happy holidays....

I guess U put in a request for the visit, so happy for you....

I agree my granddaughter was also waiting and did not get to see Santa Claus. They had her coat on waiting outside to hear him. I remember when my kids were little and they did come down every Street. It was exciting to hear for Santa when they were on the blocks around our house. Maybe next year she will see him before she go to bed.

I also was unaware that you needed to sign up, will do it for next year. I think it is a wonderful event that the firemen do for the children .I have lived in this town for 37 years and its nice to hear that four Santas were going around town.
