Shoplifter Assaults Store Employees: Police

Cinnaminson Police say a Pennsylvania man reacted poorly when he was caught shoplifting by ShopRite employees.

A Pennsylvania man caught shoplifting assaulted supermarket employees before being arrested Tuesday, according to police.

Cinnaminson Police said Jeffrey Kozieja, 40, from the 3900 block of Mary Street in Drexel Hill, tried to steal $205 worth of assorted items, including alcohol, from ShopRite when he was approached by three store employees. Kozieja assaulted the store employees in an attempt to escape.

Police arrived at the store to find Kozieja fighting with the employees in the lobby of the supermarket and immediately took him into custody, according to a report. None of the employees were injured.

Kozieja was charged with robbery, shoplifting and simple assault. He was lodged in Burlington County Jail on $50,000 bail.
