Student Charged with Attempted Sexual Assault of Minor

After an investigation, Riverton police and the county prosecutor's office nabbed the 21-year-old.

A 21-year-old Evesham man was arrested today in Riverton after attempting to arrange a sexual encounter with a 13-year-old girl, according to authorities.

Craig R. Blickman, of 18 Apple Way in Evesham, was charged with attempted sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, said Riverton Police Chief John Shaw.

The Riverton Police Department and the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office Sexual Assault/Child Abuse Unit started an investigation after they were notified by school officials two weeks ago of the underage girl's Facebook and text message relationship with the accused.

The text messages were of sexual nature, said authorities, and apparently started early this month.

Authorities assumed the 13-year-old girl's identity to continue communication with Blickman.

The accused continued his sexual explicit text messaging, police said, but this time, with an investigator. It resulted in an arrangement to meet at a location in Riverton Wednesday to engage in sexual intercourse, police said. Blickman was taken into custody at the location and arrested.

Police seized Blickman's computer at an apartment in Westchester, PA, he lives in during the school year. He is a student at Universal Technical Institute in Exton, PA.

Blickman is being held at Burlington County Jail at $50,000 bail with no 10 percent option.
