Suspects Sought in String of Local Armed Robberies: Authorities

Authorities are seeking a group of men believed to be responsible for a string of convenience store armed robberies in Burlington and Camden counties, including one in which they shot a clerk multiple times, leaving him in critical condition.

The men are suspects in several recent armed robberies in the area, including a pair of 7-Elevens in Mount Laurel that were robbed last week, the robbery of the Country Farms convenience store in Maple Shade, and the attempted robbery of the Shell gas station on Route 130 in Cinnaminson—the latter two of which occurred during Tuesday’s snowstorm.

According to authorities, the same men robbed the 7-Eleven on Westfield Avenue in Pennsauken on Jan. 10. During the robbery, the 28-year-old store clerk reached for an emergency alarm button and was shot repeatedly by the suspects. He remains in critical condition at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

7-Eleven is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for the shooting In addition, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office is offering $2,500 for information, bringing the reward total to $7,500. Detectives believe the same group of men—described as black and white or Hispanic—are responsible for at least eight armed robberies in South Jersey from Dec. 10 through this week. Some of the robberies were committed by one man, others by as many as three men, authorities said. In every case, a gun was used.

Investigators believe the incidents are connected due to the similar types of clothing worn by the perpetrators. The robbers wore masks and hoods in all the robberies, making identification difficult.

* 7-Eleven, Inc. of Dallas, TX, is offering $5,000 in reward money to the person or persons who furnish information resulting in the apprehension, arrest and indictment of the person or persons associated with injuring a 7-Eleven sales associate shot on Jan. 10, 2014, at the 7-Eleven store at 6001 Westfield Ave. in Pennsauken.

To qualify for the reward, persons with information should contact Detective McCalla or Detective Polaski. They may also submit a written claim for the reward no later than 30 days after indictment to the Asset Protection Department at 7-Eleven, Inc., 1722 Routh St., Suite 1000, Dallas, TX 75201. The person or persons providing the requested information to the referenced authorities must have had knowledge of this offer at the time the information was provided in order to qualify for the reward.

Any dispute arising from the reward offer, including allocation between claimants of the reward, will be settled by the American Arbitration Association in accordance with its rules and procedures, and its decision shall be final and binding on all parties.
