Thief Steals a TV, Tries to Steal ATV as Getaway Vehicle: Police

Cinnaminson Police arrested one man, and are looking for a second suspect, in connection with a theft at the Route 130 Walmart.

Cinnaminson Police arrested a wanted Sicklerville man for allegedly stealing a TV from Walmart Wednesday, while his accomplice got away, according to a report.

Police were called to Walmart Wednesday night for a report of two men who had stolen three large-screen TVs. The suspects left two of the TVs behind and fled in a vehicle with the third.

Police stopped the vehicle a short distance away on Andover Road. One of the suspects jumped out of the car and fled on foot, while officers took Ali H. Alexander, 34, of the unit block of Hickory Court in Sicklerville, into custody, police said.

Alexander was also found to be in possession of marijuana and wanted on two outstanding Camden County warrants, police said. He was lodged in Burlington County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Officers searched the area for Alexander’s accomplice with the assistance of a police K-9, but he escaped.

Later that night, at 12:45 a.m., police were called to the 2400 block of Church Road—a popular site for criminal activity this week—after a resident reported he caught a man trying to steal an ATV. The description of the suspect matched the suspect who ran from police following the Walmart theft. When the resident confronted him, the suspect fled on foot, police said.

Police conducted a search with the assistance of a state police helicopter, however, the suspect was not found. He is described as a black male, bald, with a beard, last seen wearing a flannel shirt.
