Brauckmann: 'Captain of the Team' for Cinnaminson

The township's annual reorganization meeting was held Monday.

The , naming Don Brauckmann as Cinnaminson’s mayor and Anthony Minniti as deputy mayor.

Brauckmann, who is the township’s 152nd mayor, said his goal is to be “captain of the team,” and always make sure every resident’s voice is heard.

“I also want to foster a greater sense of unity among residents,” Brauckmann said.

Minniti looked back on 2011, saying the township had to work hard to provide services within the 2 percent cap, and will do the same this year.

“We must be honest about what our town can and cannot afford,” he said.  “Through strict fiscal discipline, Cinnaminson has managed to avoid mass layoffs, drastic cuts in service and credit downgrades.”

Freeholder Joseph Donnelly, a former Cinnaminson mayor, swore in Minniti, who had his three young triplets by his side.  N.J. Rep. Jon Runyan swore in Brauckmann ceremonially, as he stood with his family.

NJ Superior Court Judge Janet Z. Smith swore in Committeeman Ben Young. Both Young and Minniti won last November’s election to retain their seats on committee.

During Young’s report, he said for this year, he’d like to focus on the the residents of East Riverton face.

“That’s a real goal to work on,” he said.

Outgoing mayor, Kathy Fitzpatrick, said she’d like to continue to find ways to share services with nearby towns.

“We want to meet our 2012 challenges head on,” she said.

John Rooney, who was re-appointed as director of public safety, highlighted the accomplishments of the police department in 2011 that included the , public safety director.

“We want to continue to enhance community policing too,” Rooney added.

Township committee members recognized several dignitaries in the audience including former Cinnaminson mayors and committee members, and newly elected Burlington County Freeholders Leah Arter and Joseph Howarth.
