Bruce Garganio Returns to County Freeholder Board Following Leah Arter's Resignation

Garganio was on the board from 2009-2012.

Former Burlington County Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio will return to the board following Leah Arter’s resignation, the Burlington County Times reports.

Arter resigned last week to accept a job with Burlington County College, according to philly.com.

The board oversees the college, although Arter stated holding a position with both entities would not have been a conflict. She told philly.com she was uncomfortable with the appearance of a conflict.

The Burlington County Republican Committee appointed Garganio to the seat over the weekend, according to the Burlington County Times. The committee also endorsed Evesham’s Joe Howarth as the Republican nominee for the seat in November’s election.

Garganio, of Florence, was elected to the board in 2009. He lost his re-election bid in 2012.
