Cinnaminson Hires Former Police Captain as New Administrator

Frank Locantore will leave his post as assistant superintendent of public works in Evesham for the full-time position in Cinnaminson.

After a three-month search, Cinnaminson Township a former police captain and management official as the township’s new administrator.

Frank Locantore, currently the assistant superintendent of personnel for public works in Evesham Township, will begin his post with Cinnaminson Sept. 4.

“Our number one goal was to attract a seasoned management professional with impeccable credentials,” said Mayor Don Brauckmann in a release. “We’re pleased to report our hard work has paid off.”

Locantore has worked in municipal government since 1985, first serving as an officer with the Evesham Police Department. He then was promoted to captain where he served for 11 years commanding the administrative division that handles personnel, labor relations, budgets and more.

Brauckmann called the police department there one of the most “professional police departments in the state.”

“That’s because of Frank,” he said Monday night after approved Locantore’s position.

Most recently, Locantore served as assistant superintendent for personnel for Evesham’s public works department and as a workplace safety coordinator.

According to a township release, Locantore managed personnel and labor relations and oversaw budget and purchasing functions.

“He’s not just your typical captain in the police department…” said Brauckmann Monday. “He has a lot of experience. He’s also mentored and trained out there. He’s been groomed to be an administrator for some time now. He really liked the size, fit and feel of Cinnaminson.”

Locantore, who was at Monday night’s committee meeting with his family, introduced himself at the podium and said he was “truly honored and humbled” with his new position.

Locantore joins , as the two most recent hires following . Seneski held both the administrator and chief financial officer positions.

Brauckmann said the decision to was not only to save money, but it also serves as a checks and balances measure.

According to a release from the township, by splitting up the administrator and the CFO positions, dual sign-offs are required on township financial decisions, adding another measure of assurance.

However the township will save money on salaries. Seneski was slated to make $127,500 with benefits this year. Locantore’s pay will be $95,000 but Brauckmann said he is on his wife’s insurance plan. Emmons' post is part-time and she is making $25,000 with no benefits.

George Haueber, who’s been serving as the township’s interim administrator, will stay on for a short period of time to train Locantore, Brauckmann said. Haueber currently earns $65 an hour, not to exceed $1,000 per week.

Locantore is a 19-year resident of the county and lives in Shamong with his wife and their three children.

According to his biography, Locantore is a member of the Team Evesham bicycling team, which raises money for various charities. He also coaches baseball and football.

“Every great administrator had to get their start somewhere,” Brauckmann said. “He’s got the pedigree to be exceptional. He’s been exceptional at everything he’s done.”
