Cinnaminson Mayor, Sam's Club Team Up for Charity

Anthony Minniti went up on the roof for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Children's Miracle Network.

Cinnaminson Mayor Anthony Minniti spent some time at Sam's Club's on Thursday.

Specifically, he hung out on the roof.

Minniti spent a good portion of his Thursday afternoon on the roof at Sam's Club to raise money for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the Children’s Miracle Network.

The goal was to raise $5,000 for the two charities. While that goal wasn't met on Thursday, donations can still be made online until Sunday night by clicking here.

"What's important is that we do what we can to help organizations like CHOP and Children's Miracle Network.  Sometimes it's financial, other times it's through volunteerism, and if you're lucky?  You get to take a ride on a fire truck bucket and spend the day on the roof participating in a great cause," Minniti said. "I hope we can partner with Sam's and make this an annual event.  I know next year's Mayor will appreciate the experience as much as I did."

Minniti attended the groundbreaking for Sam's Club at The Marketplace in 2002, and remarked last week how different things have become in that area.

“They've meant so much to our town, and I'm happy to work with them in their efforts to 'give back' to our community," Minniti said last week.

On Thursday, he praised the efforts of Sam's Club representatives.

"The experience has been terrific, but the real thanks should go to the joe Wolfgang and the team at Sam's," Minniti said. "They  did all the hard work, from set up, to collecting donations and grilling.  Yes, I represented the office of Mayor and hope that brought something extra to the event, but the staff of Sam's earned my admiration."
