Cinnaminson Mayor to Hit Sam's Club Roof For Charity

Mayor Anthony Minniti will go on the roof of Sam's Club next Thursday to raise money for CHOP and Children's Mircale Network.

Cinnaminson Mayor Anthony Minniti is going to new heights for a charitable cause.

The mayor will go up on the roof of Sam’s Club at 2521 Route 130 South next Thursday, June 5, and will stay there until $5,000 is raised for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the Children’s Miracle Network. Donations will be accepted by Sam’s Club representatives.

“In my 12 years on Township Committee, this is the first fundraiser of it's kind, and the first that I've participated in,” Minniti said. “I love the concept and am confident it will be a success.”

Sam’s Club is located at The Marketplace at Cinnaminson. Thus, this particular fundraiser holds special meaning for Minniti.

“Back in 2002, almost to the month, I attended the groundbreaking of The Marketplace at Cinnaminson,” Minniti said. “It was my first as a newly elected Committeeman and Cinnaminson's Director of Economic Development.  Route 130 in Cinnaminson was very different back then, and the success of this center proved to be the cornerstone of our redevelopment effort.”

He added that 12 years later, Route 130 is different not only in Cinnaminson, but in the surrounding towns.

“And it all started here, with the Marketplace,” Minniti said. “They've meant so much to our town, and I'm happy to work with them in their efforts to "give back" to our community.”

Similar events are held at Sam’s Club locations throughout the region. The whole concept is new to Minniti, though.

“I don't know exactly what to expect, but I'm hopeful it motivates our residents to be as generous as they will be creative,” Minniti said. “Both CHOP and Children's Miracle Network do such outstanding work and touch the lives of so many, that I'm humbled to be asked to help.  I've known several families who have been helped by these organizations and can personally attest to the importance of their mission.”

Minniti will go on the roof at 10 a.m.
