Snowstorm Forces Travel Restrictions on the Turnpike and the Parkway

The speed limit is 35 miles an hour on the New Jersey Turnpike and 45 miles an hour on the Garden State Parkway.

The first snowstorm of 2014 has slowed traffic on both the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway.

There is currently a speed restriction in place on the New Jersey Turnpike in both directions between the Delaware Memorial Bridge in Pennsville and the area just north of Exit 12 in Linden, according to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s website. The speed limit is 35 miles an hour due to road conditions. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 miles an hour between Exit 12 in Linden and the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee.

The speed restriction on the Garden State Parkway is also in place in both directions. Traffic is slowed to 45 miles an hour between Southern Terminus/Route 109 in Cape May and the New York State Line in Montvale, according to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s website. This restriction is in place due to salting and plowing.
