Cinnaminson Students Compete at County Contest

Cinnaminson High School students will go head to head with their peers at the county's annual Consumer Bowl at Burlington County College this week.

A dozen county high schools are scheduled to compete in the 14th annual Burlington County Consumer Bowl beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Burlington County College (601 Pemberton-Browns Mills Road, Pemberton). Snow date is Friday, Feb. 22, at the same place and at the same time.

Two-time defending champion Moorestown Friends School will return and attempt to become only the second team in the 14-year history of the competition to win three consecutive championships. Pemberton won in six of the first seven years, and five in a row from 2002-2006.

The other teams scheduled to compete are: Burlington County Alternative School, Burlington City, Burlington Township, Cherokee, Cinnaminson, Lenape, Palmyra, Pemberton, Rancocas Valley, Seneca and Shawnee. Rancocas Valley will be participating for the first time.

Three winners from the first and second rounds will compete at approximately noon for the county championship.

The Consumer Bowl is a game show-like competition that tests high school students’ knowledge of consumer protection, and weights and measures issues. The competition will be held in the McDaniel Integrated Learning Center at Burlington County College and is sponsored by the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs under the Office of the Attorney General.
