The Cinnaminson Elementary Home and School Association’s (CEHASA) biggest fundraiser of the year will be held Sunday, Dec. 8, at Cinnaminson High School.

Organizer Christine Turner said the Association decided to make a slight change this year and bring the festival back to its more kid-centric roots. In addition to the roughly 100 crafters/vendors displaying and selling their wares, she said there will be musical entertainment—provided by Cinnaminson students—including the Cinnaminson High School Marching Band, which will escort Santa (who will be arriving by fire truck) into the high school.

The event will also feature the ever-popular “Sweets and Treats Lane,” where guests can purchase a cookie container and fill it with assorted home-baked goods.

And don’t forget Santa’s Workshop, featuring an assortment of kid activities: donut-decorating; face painting; festive hat-making; and various other crafts for children.

Admission to Winterfest is totally free. However, the Christmas laser light show—held at 1 p.m. in the high school auditorium—has a $2 cover charge. The show was held for the first time last year and is already one of the festival’s most popular attractions, according to Turner.

“Kids love the laser light show,” she said.

There will also be plenty of food (in addition to the sweets) served at the event, including pizza, hoagies, hot dogs and more.

Proceeds benefit the Cinnaminson Elementary Home and School Association, which funds a multitude of extracurricular activities and programs for elementary students.

“Our children benefit hugely from the things CEHASA does,” said Turner. “Without these fundraisers, there would be no extra activities for children, no family fun nights, no playground equipment.”

Winterfest will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at the high school. Volunteers are always needed. Anyone with questions or who would like to volunteer should contact Turner at cehasawinterfest@yahoo.com or call 609-405-3953.
