Update: Music Makers Win Middle School Division in Choir Contest

The NJ101.5 competition netted three statewide winners.

The Eleanor Rush Intermediate School Music Makers won the middle school competition in the NJ101.5 Christmas Choir Contest.

The elementary school winner was from Ocean Township and the high school—and overall—winner was the choir from Monsignor Donovan High School in Toms River.

The Music Makers of Eleanor Rush Intermediate School will be performing live today at 11:30 a.m. on NJ101.5 in the radio station's Christmas Choir Contest.

Winners of each category—elementary, middle and high schools—will be announced today at noon.

A play back of all finalists will be played on Christmas Day. The Music Makers' song will be played at 7 p.m.

The Music Makers at Eleanor Rush Intermediate School have once again in a Christmas choral competition, this time for NJ101.5's Christmas Choir Contest.

The Music Makers perform live on 101.5 FM Friday, Dec. 23 at 11:30 a.m. Winners of the contest have not yet been announced. 

For 24 hours, listeners got to vote on the Music Makers song, their rendition of "Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)" on the radio station's website.

The winner of the contest receives $1,000 for the music program.

Last year, the Music Makers , singing "Boogie Woogie Santa Claus." The group won $5,000 for their music program and most notably, performed with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.

The Music Makers are comprised of fourth- and fifth-grade students at Rush. They are led by music teacher Natalia Sigmund.
