Cinnaminson Baseball Team to Compete in Diamond Classic

The Pirates open the tournament against undefeated Pennsville at Overbrook Saturday afternoon.

The Cinnaminson High School baseball team is one of 16 teams who will compete in the 41st Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic, nj.com reports.

The Pirates earned an at-large bid to the tournament, and will open up play against Pennsville, the automatic qualifier out of the Tri-County Conference Classic Division.

First pitch for this game is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Overbrook Regional High School. The winner faces the winner of the game earlier in the day between Haddonfield and Northern Burlington.

The Pirates are 11-4 this season and have four games this week, including three on the road,  before playing Pennsville.

Pennsville is undefeated at 14-0 and has seven shutouts this season.

The first place teams in the nine South Jersey high school baseball divisions earn automatic bids to the tournament. Seven teams earn at-large bids based on ranking.
