Cinnaminson Football Team Upset by Bridgeton in Playoff Quarterfinals

Bridgeton won, 47-26.

The Cinnaminson High School football team saw its season unexpectedly come to an end Friday night when it was eliminated from the playoffs by the Bridgeton Bulldogs.

Sixth-seeded Bridgeton upset No. 3 Cinnaminson, 47-26, in the quarterfinals of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 playoffs, according to nj.com.

Bridgeton improved to 8-2 and will visit No. 2 Woodstown in the semifinals next week. Cinnaminson fell to 7-2.

Michael Jones put Cinnaminson on the board first with a 37-yard field goal, but Bridgeton scored three straight touchdowns before Cinnaminson got on the board.

Nick Thevanayagam was responsible for two Pirates scores, including a 44-yard pass to Peter Selnek in the second quarter and a 29-yard run in the fourth.
