The Cinnaminson High School golf team wanted to honor its coach with a championship.

This year will be coach Rick Masi's last with the program, and the Pirates wanted to send him out on top. By taking first place at the NJSIAA South/Central Group 1 golf tournament on Monday at Cranbury Golf Course, they took a step toward doing just that.

Juniors David Gall and Matt Haddon took second and third place with scores of 76 and 77, respectively, the Burlington County Times reports.

The top two teams and the top five individuals advance to next week's state championship tournament.

Masi has been a coach and teacher at Cinnaminson for 40 years, according to the report.

Well that's true Brian. Who am I to inhibit those who need to use public posts to boost their own self worth as they compare themselves to high school youth? You're right, I should share some compassion. Congratulations to the Cinnaminson High School Golf Team for achieving such victory as a result of dedication to the sport and great discipline. Way to go!
