Ride the Wave Motorcycle Run

Organizers of the upcoming Ride the Wave Motorcycle Run are hoping for a good weather day for the 4th Annual Event to be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012. The 84-mile police escorted Run will leave Susquehanna Bank Center Lot 2 in Camden at 10am following a brief Memorial Service to honor and remember Police, Fire and Emergency Services Personnel who have given their lives in the line of duty. The run will conclude at Atlantic and Oak Avenues in Wildwood, where riders and passengers will be welcomed to enjoy the Annual Wildwood Spring Rally...a 3-day event for motorcycle enthusiasts, which includes many vendors and entertainment.

The event began in 2009 when over 850 motorcycles joined the ride to pay tribute to the fallen officers. In 2010 hundreds of riders again signed up for the ride but due to inclement weather the race was cancelled. 2011 again provided inclement weather but not to the point of cancellation. A contingent of 250 motorcycles participated in the event, raising funds for this very important cause.

A video of the 2009 run can be found on the Ride the Wave website at www.ridethewave.org.

The cost per rider is $25 and includes a commemorative pin and travel mug. Passengers may ride for an additional $10. Pre-registration is ongoing. Groups are welcome! On-site Registration opens at 8 am. DJ services will be provided and food will be available for purchase.

The event is a joint venture between Burlington County 200 Club, Camden County Hero Scholarship Fund and Gloucester County Hero Scholarship Fund, all non-profit organizations whose missions it is to provide financial and educational assistance/support to fallen Public Safety Personnel in their respective counties. The proceeds from this event will help the said organizations to uphold their promise of support to the families of those public safety members who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
