Homer the Roamer Needs a Special Home

This pet profile is courtesy of the Burlington County Animal Shelter.

Homer is special boy. He is only about a year and half in age but already has a big obstacle to overcome. Homer is positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).

This virus does not kill affected cats and they can live a normal life. However, most people are afraid to adopt a FIV+ cat so Homer is in great danger of not being adopted. The only special requirement for Homer is that he be an only cat or live with  other cats that already have the virus so he does not spread it to healthy cats (even though it is not easily spread).

Homer really deserves a loving home because he is a great cat. He hates being caged up at the shelter since he is such a smart guy (he is an expert at escaping from his cage). When he is out of his cage he loves to sit on windowsills watching the world go by or scratching on a scratching post.

If you have a spot in your home for this special cat please come by and see him. He won't be able to make it out of the shelter without you. Refer to his number C-45494 when contacting the shelter at 609-265-5073.

**Homer is a member of our Purrfect Perks Program! When you adopt him, you will receive a Kitty Goodie Bag donated by a volunteer with the Friends of Burlington County Animal Shelter!**
