UPDATE: How Much Snow in Tuesday's Forecast?
A meteorologist says snowfall will reach its peak intensity just in time for the Tuesday evening commute in South Jersey.

A winter storm forecast to drop several inches of snow on the area could create headaches for motorists heading home Tuesday evening.

Meteorologist Mitchell Gaines, with the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, said snow is projected to start falling late Tuesday morning and intensify as the day goes on. Between six to eight inches is anticipated before the precipitation ends late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.
Gaines said the forecasted totals could still fluctuate, but snow is guaranteed.

“Temperatures will be in the 20s, which would make this an all-snow event,” she said.
The most intense snowfall will come between 4 and 7 p.m., according to Gaines, “right in time for the evening commute.”
She said gusting winds could lead to blowing snow and drifts later in the day Tuesday, creating potentially hazardous conditions for drivers.
In addition to the precipitation, area residents will also have to cope with frigid temperatures. According to Gaines, the high Tuesday will be in the mid-20s, and drop to single digits by Tuesday night.
The arctic temperatures will continue into Wednesday, with below-zero wind chill expected.
