Fourth of July Celebrations Highlight This Week

There's also an important meeting for anyone interested in helping out with Cinnaminson's National Night Out.

There’s an extra spring in many people’s step as the week starts, knowing they’re headed into a shortened workweek and the celebrations around Independence Day.

While Cinnaminson doesn’t host its own fireworks for the Fourth, there is plenty to do nearby to celebrate America’s birthday.

Riverton will host its all-day, jam-packed Fourth of July celebration once again. If you want to race, you have four options—a 5K or one-mile run, a downhill derby or the raft race. There’s also the 116th Riverton Fourth of July Children's Parade.

What Riverton doesn’t have on the Fourth is fireworks, but Cinnaminson Patch compiled two dozen alternative options around South Jersey—some are before and after July 4, so there are plenty of opportunities to find a show that works for you.

If chowing down for the Fourth is more your style, the Ahmadiyya Muslim community is hosting a Fourth of July barbecue in Willingboro.

Back on the home front, Cinnaminson Police will host the National Night Out organizational meeting on Monday evening. Police need volunteers to help pull off Cinnaminson’s second National Night Out, coming in August.

The holiday week means most governmental services are suspended for Thursday, and many for Friday. The school district is closed both days. The library is closed Thursday, but back open on Friday.

You still have some time, but if you need to register to vote before the special August primary for New Jersey’s Senate seat, the deadline is coming up. July 23 is the deadline for registering or changing your address.
